The 4x4x4 Octahedron Ghost Cube builds a full octahedron around a 4×4 core with 3D-printed extensions, and offsets the cuts so each piece has its own shape.
At this size the octahedron’s points become long, thin pieces that are easy to misread, and the 4×4’s lack of fixed centres removes your usual anchor. It’s a slow, satisfying solve and an imposing object on a shelf.
Who it’s for: solvers who know the 4×4 and have done at least one ghost puzzle. The natural top of the 2×2, 3×3 and 4×4 set.
Why it’s worth it: listed in the Twisty Puzzle Museum. At 105 mm and 350 g, it uses far more printed material and hand-fitting than the smaller versions, and completes a three-puzzle family by one designer.
